Rutland National School was established in 1910 on Rutland Street. In December 2008 we moved around the corner to a brand new state of the art building at the junction of Sean McDermott St and Lower Gloucester Place. We are lucky to share the building with the Holy Child Preschool who occupy the ground floor. Our school has a rich history – it was responsible for the hugely successful Give Up Yer Aul Sins recordings in the 1960’s. We are a Catholic school under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin, but welcome pupils of all faiths and nationalities. Rutland N.S. is a mixed school catering for girls and boys from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. Situated in the heart of the North East Inner City we have a thriving school population, with a current enrolment of 160 children. We offer a highly trained staff of 16 teachers, 5 Special Needs Assistants and a dedicated Special Educational Team. Some of the things we offer include:
- After school clubs
- Breakfast club
- Choir
