5th Class adventure to Fighting Words

On a rainy Tuesday, 5th class took a short walk to the Fighting Words offices near our school. We met a lady called Aifric who asked us lots of questions and helped us plan out our story.

Then we went into groups and made our own stories by ourselves.

There was a ‘cranky’ editor who had to give approval for our story and decide if he would print it or not.

We were lucky and he decided it was so good he would print it! We all left with or very own copy. I would like to be an author one day.

Planting Progress

The children are really pleased with their planting journey so far.  They are excited  to check on the progress of their plants every morning.  Great work!

Maths Group

Senior Infants were working very hard today! They are gaining confidence using a number line to add and subtract.  They love improving their counting skills by playing fun games!

Budding Gardeners

Some of the children have started to grow their own vegetables. They are learning how to sow seeds and take care of their plants by watering them daily and keeping them in a safe place.  So far, we have planted spinach, cress, tomatoes and peas.  Watch this space!

Baking Skills!!

A group of 4th and 5th class children showing off their baking skills this week.  They made yummy red velvet cupcakes!  Lovely teamwork!184186 187

5th Class visit the LAB Art Gallery

On Thursday the 9th of November, 5th class got the chance to visit the LAB art gallery close to our school.

Katy showed us around some of the art work and we all did a great job of sharing our opinions and thoughts on the wonderful work on show.
