Ms. Bermingham’s Junior Infants have been learning all about caterpillars for the past few weeks. We even had some caterpillars join our class! Today, we were finally able to release our butterflies in our wonderful school garden. It was lovely to have 6th class join us as we let our beautiful butterflies go. We told them to say a special hello to Ollie for us.

3rd class have been very busy so far this term. We celebrated Chinese New Year, St. Brigid’s Day, Seachtain na Gaeilge and St. Patrick’s Day. Everyone has been working hard and having lots of fun! In PE we have been learning how to play basketball. 3rd class have also been doing swimming lessons this term and the class are really enjoying it and making big improvements. We hope everyone has a Happy St Patrick’s Day! Lá Fhéile Pádraig Shona Duit!
It is hard to believe we are almost halfway through the year. Junior infants have settled into ‘big school’ so well. Ms. Bermingham is so proud of them and how much they have learned so far. This month, we learned all about the North and South Poles. We were Polar Explorers in our role play corner where we travelled to the Arctic/Antarctic. We made igloos with our blocks and sensory snow. We also played with water and did some floating and sinking experiments. The children have learned so many new words relating to our Polar theme, like “hatch”, “huddle”, “flipper”, “frost”, and “waddle.” It is great to hear them using them in class with one another.
We were so excited to get hot lunches this month and the boys and girls are loving them! They get so excited for lunchtime! We also celebrated Stephen’s birthday this month and surprised him by singing ‘Happy Birthday’ and making him lovely birthday cards.
We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year will bring.
5th class would like to wish all their friends and family a very safe and happy Christmas. We hope you enjoy our song and our poem faoi an chéad Nollaig!
Senior Infants loved practicing lots of Christmas songs this month, here is their favourite one! We hope you like it as much as we do.
6th class are getting excited for Christmas!
We hope you all enjoy our poem ‘A Christmas night in Dublin’ and our performance of ‘ I wish it could be Christmas everyday’.
