The Green Schools committee have been checking the water meter every week to see how much water we are using as a school.

At a recent meeting they looked at the totals and calculated how much water we used every week. They then found the average amount of water we use per week.

It is 427 litres!

The committee’s next step will be to report this information to classes and advise them on how to reduce their water consumption.

They will continue to check the water meter and we will see if we have reduced the amount of water used!

Water Conservation

The boys and girls in the green schools committee met today to discuss ways that we could save water as a school and to make posters to raise awareness.

They had some great ideas!

-Turn off the tap when washing your hands and wash them quickly.

-Use excess water from bottles to water the plants.

-Make sure the water bottle doesn’t overflow when filling it.

We are going to start reading the water meter regularly to figure out how much water we are using as a school, we will then try and reduce this!

Green Schools

This is our Green Schools committee at a recent meeting. Our school currently has the ‘Litter and Waste’ and ‘Energy’ Flags. This year we are working towards the ‘Water’ flag. The Green Schools representatives will have more information for all the classes very soon!
