Leonardo Da Vinci

We are learning all about Leonardo Da Vinci in our class. He was born in 1452 near the town of Vinci in Italy.  Da Vinci could do many differnt things, he was an artist, a scientist, an engineer and an inventor. He was a man of both worlds as he could do both art and science. He sketched bodies that he often stole from a nearby morgue. Da Vinci created excellent in-depth drawings of the human body which helped the doctors to perform better surgery. He designed a submarine and invented a parachute. Only 17 of Da Vinci’s paintings have survived. His most famous, the Mona Lisa, is in the Louvre in Paris.
