Quick update about that that is happening and has happened in our school community
We have been so busy over the past few weeks…
Art with your kid will start this Wednesday in art and cookery room we will be doing ‘ Your family tree’ join us for some creative fun!
We have been holding our ‘Lego with your kid’ sessions every Monday for Junior and senior infants groups there are places for children and parents. We have been having so much fun building and we love spending time with our parents
because the sessions were so busy we are moving our sessions upstairs to the art and cookery room
Reading with you kid sessions have begun again with a group from 3rd class our reader in residence Julianne is telling us all about different books and we share our thoughts and ideas with our parents
Last week was Seachtain na Gaeilge and all the Senior Infant parents joined us for bingo, charades and lots of fun game. We were teaching the parents all their colours and numbers
On the 7th of march we celebrated ‘International Womens Day’ and 4th class had an amazing exhibition all our parents came to visit. We told them all about the different women in history!
Zoom Ahead with Books is back for all those in Junior Senior and First class! All the children had a kids talk session and then brought home their zoom ahead pack which has a packet of colouring pencils and a notebook for drawing. We can’t wait to go home and share a story with our ‘book buddy!’

Its Toy show time and lots of Elves are getting up to mischief in houses all over Dublin 1 !

ENGLISH CLASSES FOR FREE these classes are run by myself, Emma & Annemarie from Central Model Primary. The classes are for beginners or those who want to gain confidence in their spoken English. Meet at school reception every Tuesday 9.30am
WEDNESDAY
MATHS FOR FUN for Junior Infants & Parents we are learning all about pattern and number come join us 8.45 to 9.30am in the library on first floor
LEGO WORKSHOP a number of senior infant parents and children are taking part in a lego workshop for the next 4 weeks in the parents room 1.30pm to 2,30 pm
THURSDAY
DIAMOND PARK CONSULTATION Dublin City Council want to hear the voices of the public in terms of their planned refurbishment of the Diamond Park. Please join us at 9.30 to 10.30 am in Beckett House Summer hill. Leaving school reception at 9.45 am
FRIDAY
PARENTS ASSOCIATION we will be discussing the organisation of the Christmas Dinner on the 17th of Dec we will be coordinating and organising volunteers. We will be updating new members about up and coming training. All Parents welcome

F.L.O.R.E.S project, a number of Junior Infants and their parents are partaking in the pilot project. Over the next four weeks the children and their parents will take part in project exploring science technology engineering and music( STEM subjects)
PILATES FOR FREE For all Parents Orla will continue to help get the Women and men of Dublin healthy and fit with her pilates classes which are run every Monday in Central Model School 9.40-10.40am. We meet in Rutland reception at 9.20am
TUESDAY
ENGLISH CLASSES FOR FREE every Tuesday there are English Classes for parents with classes thought by myself & Annemarie HSCL from Central Model Community school. Its very relaxed and parents with young children can also attend.

Walk Talk and Discover Parents walking group we have visited Botanic gardens, Iveagh Gardens and Chester Beatty Library and for Halloween we will be visiting the mummies of St. Audeons join us if you dare!

Local Education Committee
The purpose of the local committee is to identify school related issues at a community level that impinge on a childs learning and address these issues by working together with other interested groups. Topics such as school attendance, antibullying,transfer programmes, afterschools etc

Welcome to a New Academic Year!
Welcome back to all our pupils and Parents and a massive BIG welcome to Mr. Feeneys New Junior Infants.
September has been busy already !
Thank you to all the parents for attending the Welcome Meetings in the classes we really appreciate your support.
We also had A Community Adult Education Roadshow with information from Parnell ETB, National College of Ireland , Dublin Adult Literacy centre, Ozanam House, LYCS and more. You can pop into me in the Parents room if you want to discuss course options or classes that are running in the area.
We also had the Afterschools and Clubs Roadshow for all the kids and parents so that the school community is aware of all the amazing clubs and activities in the area. There was lots of interest and we had brilliant turn out with information from ASP, Belvedere Youth Club, LYCS, FAI GAA ,Swim Ireland and More. Please keep an eye on the notice board for information on afterschools and clubs
Up coming events
27th of September ‘Secondary School Presentation’ from 1.30- 2.30 pm in the School Hall. It is really important that all parents attend
28th of September ‘Sculpture in Context’ Trip to the Botanic Gardens for all 1st class and 4th class children and Parents. Bus will leave from outside the door at 9.45 and return 12
3rd of October Internet Safety Talk for Parents this is an evening talk to inform parents of the benefits and issues in regard to internet use
