World Book Day was last Thursday. Third class went to the library to do paired reading with the Junior Infants.
We picked out books that we thought Junior Infants would like. Some of the books we read were: Pants, Room on the Broom, Cinderella, Henry Hugglemonster, Spot the Duck and One to ten and Back Again. All of them were colourful, with loads of pictures and easy for young children to understand.
We read the books to the Junior Infants, we showed them the pictures and we asked them questions about the books. We asked them to guess what the book was about, we asked them about colours, we asked them did they like the book and what their favourite character was.
It was nice to read to children that are younger than us. It was a good experience. We hope the junior infants enjoyed it as much as we did.
