1st Class Trip to Botanic Gardens

First Class had a great time in the Botanic Gardens last week. It was a lovely sunny day. We went on a nature walk and found lots of interesting things! Some children found pine cones and conkers, while other children collected autumn leaves. We saw a squirrel collecting food for the winter and ducks swimming in the pond. We also got to play a few fun games and sang some songs on the way back to school. We all think that the Botanic Gardens are a really cool place to visit!

4th Class Clay Heads

We had great fun last week making heads out of clay. When the clay dried we painted them and tried to make them as realistic looking as possible. Please have a look and let us know what you think!

Procedural Writing

We are doing procedural writing at the moment in the class. We had great fun writing a step-by-step guide of how to make tea and toast. Afterwards we were allowed to eat as much as we wanted!

Here are some of the things we like to eat on toast: butter, jam, honey, banana and nutella – yummy!

Football

The boys and girls from 3rd – 6th class are training hard every Monday with the school soccer team. Mr. Naughton, our head coach, is very excited about some of the up and coming talent. “The work-rate and dedication of some of these youngsters is out of this world! The future of sport in Rutland NS is looking very bright indeed”, Mr. Naughton gloated at the last training session before Christmas. With the Lord Mayors Cup fast approaching in March, only time will tell if these young hopefuls can reach their full potential.
